The Ottawa Watercolour Society, founded by well-known watercolourist, Morton Baslaw CSPWC, has developed a graduated process of membership from membership to fellowship. TheSociety promotes and encourages high standards in watercolour painting  and holds two juried exhibitions and one fellows exhibition annually. The Annual General Meeting is held around the 1st of December each year. Among other activities are special presentations, critiques of member's work and jurying for fellowship on an irregular basis. Membership is open to anyone. Associate member status is attained after a member's paintings have been accepted in two juried exhibitions. OWS fellowship status may be conferred at the Annual General Meeting when members have been accepted in a further two juried exhibitions and their work has been approved by a special fellowship jury.
