MARK YOUR CALENDARS! - Two valuable events coming up soon for OWS members to attend.
April 29th - a CRITIQUE SESSION led by Fellow of the OWS, Ted Duncan. Ted has many years of experience with both teaching and painting Watercolour. Bring your paintings, either finished or unfinished, framed or unframed, for some friendly input as to how to turn your works into masterpieces! Members have found these sessions remarkably helpful, fun and generally informative. If you don't have a painting to share, your input is much welcomed! This is to be held at the Centennial Library branch in Bells Corners, 3870 Old Richmond Road, from 1:30-3:30pm on April 29th. May 27th - an information session on THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FRAMING your own artwork, led by Pamela McKinnon, who has a wealth of experience from working many years with framing, and is also a Fellow of the OWS. Some of the issues she will discuss include: materials, cutting of double mats, glass cleaning, how to properly hinge your artwork and back your painting, as well as what is appropriate hanging hardware. She even has tips on how to take stains out of mats. We take the precious time to paint our artwork, here is an opportunity to understand more about how to properly protect and show it off. This will be held in Room 1B, Nepean Centrepointe Library, 101 Centrepointe Drive, on May 27th from 10:00am to 12:00 noon These events are free and all are welcome. RSVP appreciated but not required to : [email protected]
